Lithofin TC Impregnator - 1 Litre

A special product from the LITHOFIN-Range for terracotta and cotto (TC). Lithofin TC Impregnator is a ready-to-use, solvent free impregnator based on water and oil repellent polymers and additives. This product is the first part of the modern method for the protective treatment of terracotta.

Properties

Lithofin TC Impregnator penetrates into porous surfaces and forms a thin, invisible film inside the capillaries. This treatment prevents water, dirt and oil from sinking into the surface. Cleaning the surface is greatly simplified. The surface’s permeability is only slightly reduced, the appearance of the surface is not altered, but it may turn slightly darker.

Field of Use

1. before grouting: for facilitating removing grouting material from porous surfaces.

2. for protecting cotto, terracotta, clay slabs, terres quites, etc. against the penetration of oil, grease, dirt and water. First step of the modern method for treating terracotta and cotto.

Please Note: pre-treated and glazed surfaces can not be impregnated. In cases of doubt try the product prior to use.

Directions for Use

1. as protective treatment: evenly and generously apply Lithofin TC Impregnator undiluted to the clean and dry surface using a lambs wool wiper or sponge. On very absorbent surfaces, repeat the application after 30 to 40 minutes. Avoid or immediately wipe over drips and puddles and remove all product residues from the surface.

2. as grout aid: dilute Lithofin TC Impregnator approx. 1:3 up to 1:5 depending on the absorbency of the surface. Evenly apply to the dry surface. Allow the product to dry for approx. two hours before grouting.

Application Temperature: the temperature of the surface should be between 5°C and 25°C. Switch off under floor heating.

Drying Time: approx. one hour depending on the room temperature. The finishing treatment with Lithofin Sealant should be commenced directly after drying.

Please Note: remove product residues with a non-linting cloth. Do not allow product to dry on the surface. Always treat the entire surface. During treatment, the surface may appear patchy. This effect will disappear after the product has dried. Avoid or immediately remove splashes on wood, glass, plastics, varnish, silicone joints and other sensitive surfaces.

Coverage: approx. 5 to 10m² per litre on soft clay slabs and terracotta, approx. 10 to 15m² per litre on Italian cotto.

Storage

Keep closed and cool. Frost-free. Shelf life of up to two years.
